![]() After four years on my Jeep it was still in very good condition. I went with a Trektop (has the slanted rear) and passed the fabric onto another Forum member about a year ago. I had a replacement Bestop (they also make the Mopar tops) black diamond top on my TJ for 4 years before I took it off to have the Jeep painted. From my experience, the black diamond fabric will last at least 7 years if taken care of. While the twill looks better (Mopar calls it the premium top) it is more expensive. The twill windows are almost twice as much as the black diamond. They have the side windows for black diamond, black twill and tan twill. Kerdizo - here is a listing on Quadratec for replacement windows. But apparently not, either that or there was some other malfunction which caused this to happen. Like I said I’ve had a Jeep for ever and was nothing but extremely confident I had everything right when I put it back together. Please be sure you have everything right when driving these new Jeeps with the soft tops. And just like that I am now missing one window. Later that day I was just getting into the highway merging at about 70mph onto rt 95 when my drivers side rear window segment ripped off and promptly was run over and obliterated by traffic. I’ve been babying this thing for the last two days so rest assured I made certain everything looked exactly how it did when I drove it off the lot. Finally the rear window is slid into place using the same kind of rubbery tube that the side windows use, the same kind of green rubbery edges get pushed into the corner retainers, and then there is a final piece that creates the seal between the soft top and the tailgate. Followed by the rear retaining piece getting snapped into place after lining it up with the soft top corner and soft top brackets that are bolted to each back corner of the Jeep. Side window segments get slid into the rubbery tube hanging off the soft top and then the green rubber seals get pushed into the grooves. Soft top gets rolled back towards the front of the Jeep on the rails and locks in using the two locks behind the front sun visors I watched a few “how tos” since this is my first new Jeep ( I also own an ‘83 CJ7 which is the loml) so I wanted to get familiar with how the new system works. ![]() Of course yesterday it was a delightful 58 degrees out here in central MA so naturally I had to take the top down and cruise around for a bit. It came with the black soft top ( standard one not the luxury one). Just bought a 2021 JLU Sahara two days ago.
